Paintball Bunkers
A large cylinder bunker which is standing vertically is called a can or a standup bunker. If the can is horizontal it is known as a rollie. A rectangular bunker is known as a brick and a bunker shaped liked a tombstone is called, of course a tombstone.
A unique shaped bunker is the temple also known as an Aztec. This one is a four sided pyramid with the top cut off. If the bunker is three sided and pyramid- like it is referred to as a Dorito named after the popular snack food.
As stated before bunkers used in field play can be made of just about anything. Some suggestions for using common items include using stacked wooden pallets and empty 55 gallon drums. Other common items that have been used as bunkers are trash bags filled with dirt or overturned card tables or old kitchen tables. Another suggestion is bales of hay if it just happens to be lying around.
Along with suggestions of items to use as bunkers there are some items which should not be used as bunkers. These include any type of hut, tree fort, or playground equipment. Let’s say you wanted to use a sliding board as a bunker. At the top you would have a great view of the playing field but what happens if you are ambushed? Where do you go? You could be surrounded with no chance for escape and really nothing for cover. In the case of huts or playhouses players get a false sense of security and tend to remove safety gear
